Certificate of Completion for the Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course

When you enter your details for the Certificate of Completion Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course you agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Course Requirements

To receive a Certificate of Completion you must have:

   a) Inputted the required mandatory information into the data fields on the Mentor registration page, and

   b) You must have satisfactorily completed all 4 stages of the online assessment, and

   c) Paid the course fee of £85 GBP in full, and

   d) Adhere to the terms of use & conditions of use.

Once you have successfully fulfilled the above requirements you will be emailed a Certificate of Completion within 30 days of the date of your completion.

The University reserves the right to amend the above completion criteria without notice.

2. Status

You agree that whilst fulfilling the completion requirements for your Certificate of completion you will have no entitlement (other than set out in these terms & conditions) to any resources, study materials, teaching, facilities or rights & benefits of the University.

You agree that the Certificate of Completion is not an academic award of the University & does not carry CATS Credit rating points.

If you are an ACCA member, studying this module may count towards your CPD as long as the material is relevant to your training & development needs. One hour of learning equates to one hour of CPD: ACCA advises that you use this as a guide when allocating yourself CPD units.

3. Payment terms

Full payment of the course fee must be made at time of booking unless otherwise stated (please see Section 10 Electronic Payment below).

4. Cancellation

Following payment for your Certificate course if you cannot complete your requirements for your Certificate because of circumstances beyond your control before commencement then the following charges will apply:

(i) a refund of your fee (minus the University’s reasonable administrative charge) will only given for cancellations received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement of your course, and

(ii) after 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course you will be charged the full fee and no refund will be given.

Please note that any cancellation must be made in writing and received by the University at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement date.

5. Unforeseen circumstances

You agree that occasionally unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel your course. In such circumstances you will be given as much notice as reasonably possible & we will provide you a full refund of fees paid.

6. VAT

All course fees are subject to Value Added Tax at the current applicable rate. The University will only accept valid exemptions under the HMRC regulations only.

7. Distance Selling Regulations 2000

We abide by the applicable elements of the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 (as amended by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/3134). This means that where you purchase your course on-line on the Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course website you are entitled to an unconditional fourteen (14) day money back guarantee in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (as amended). This is generally known as a “cooling off period”. In order to cancel your booking you must notify us that you wish to cancel your course or return any course materials under your money back guarantee & email or write to us at our address within fourteen (14) working days of your booking (i.e. the date our contract was finalised) & you must arrange for & pay the cost of returning the materials to us. We will refund you your course fees (including the cost of your course materials delivered to you) as soon as possible, but in any event within 30 days of you giving notice to us of your intention to cancel your booking & to return the materials.

8. Guidelines for individuals & employers

Where the booking is made by the individual’s employer it is such employer's responsibility to ensure that its employee on behalf of whom it has made the booking is free from any condition which could affect their capability to undertake their chosen course, & that they have the aptitude to cope with a course of study or can complete the completion requirements.

9. Exclusion of Liability & Indemnity

9.1 We will not be liable to you or any third party that pays your course fee howsoever arising to the fullest extent permissible by law except with respect to damages arising from personal injury, death or fraud.

9.2 You agree to indemnify us & all third parties who provide content for the Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course Website for your breach of the terms & conditions of this Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course Website & hold all such persons harmless against loss, costs & damages (including where this arises from your for infringement of the intellectual property rights, or where your use of this Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course Website disparages or invades the privacy of any third party, or where you use the name or logo of the University is in breach of these terms & conditions.

10. Electronic Payment

When making electronic payment using a credit or debit card of your course fee for the Certificate of Completion you must accept the following terms & conditions (please read them carefully before placing your order & print a copy for future reference):

10.1 To make payment you must first input your details into the appropriate data fields so that we have can process your application & then follow the link to the electronic payment webpage to make payment.

10.2 For security & fraud prevention, the online payments which you make are remotely handled by a third party (including checking your card details) by Realex (http://www.realexpayments.com). Consequently we neither collect your card details ourselves, nor have access to them.

10.3 Each order that you make shall constitute an offer by you to purchase the course (& any materials if applicable) which will be subject to these terms & conditions. We are entitled to reject any order & will notify you of any such rejection.

10.4 You must make payment for any materials ordered by credit or debit card in advance of delivery on the Realex Payments website on the order page of this website. It is your responsibility to ensure that all details of any order are complete & accurate. All prices are in UK pounds sterling. This may mean that conversion of your currency to UK sterling may be subject to exchange rate fluctuations at the prevailing rate set by your card issuer.

10.5 Payment will be immediately debited from your card account at the time you enter your card details on the secure payment page.

10.6. The electronic payment website is protected by an SSL certificate which is displayed in the bottom right hand corner of each page. Its validity can be confirmed by clicking on it. Sites secured by QuickSSL utilize 128-bit SSL certificates offer the highest level of encryption or security possible. 10.7 All our courses & associated materials are advertised for sale subject to availability. In the event of us being unable to supply the materials ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible.

10.11 We accept no liability for any loss or corruption of data held on your computer, or for any other loss or damage of any kind that occurs to your computer as a result of you accessing our Oxford Brookes Registered Mentor Course Website.

10.12 This agreement shall be governed by the law of England & Wales. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts for the resolution of all disputes arising out of or in connection with this agreement.
